A writer’s voice is defined by many elements: style, tone, syntax, vocabulary, point of view, themes, and more. Because voice is affected by factors such as life experiences, personality, passions, and convictions, writers’ voices convey the truest parts of who they are. Since those factors are not static, a writer’s voice is prone to change.
Change is especially likely in the voice of a writer who dares to nurture her own life. When a life is nurtured, growth occurs. And with growth comes change. What does a writer do when, following a season of growth, she finds her voice changing?
